Bobby Orr
When former Hartford Whalers owner Richard Gordon drafted Orr to be on the Whalers advisory board, he invited the media to join them for a game in the big skybox at the Civic Center.
During the game, I turned around and saw Orr sitting by himself at the bar, so I walked over and thanked him for all the great memories he gave an old Bruins fan. He couldn’t thank me enough, and insisted I sit with him to watch the rest of the game. What a great night that was, and what a great guy.
