Brett Favre
When I was in high school, I worked in the cafe of a local bookstore. When Brett Favre wrote his book, he came to the bookstore to sign it. The bookstore was in a strip mall, and I remember the line wrapping around forever. My poor little brother stood in line for hours, but never made it in to see him.
The cafe wasn’t open, but my boss knew how much I liked Brett Favre–I live in Wisconsin, and in 1997 the whole state was his fan. He let me work that night, which consisted of me ogling as he signed his books. It was really fun to watch. Everyone waiting to meet him was very excited. I remember these little girls giggling to each other as they got close.
He was really nice to everyone that passed through and often shared his M&M’s with the kids in line. He even let me have some, too! I guess this is sort of a lame story, but I will never forget that night.
