David Canary from All My Children
I was shopping in downtown Westport, Connecticut, with a friend. She is a soap opera fan, and we had just been discussing which celebrities, if any, may be walking the streets around us. A few minutes later, we crossed Route 1 in front of what was once Eddie Bauer (and is now Tiffany’s); she was a few steps behind. I was turned to the side, talking to her, not watching where I was going, and walked, head on,..WHAM… into another person traveling in the opposite direction of mine. We did the clumsy pedestrian move that resembles ballroom dancing, and once we were sure we were both ok and nothing was broken, we continued in our separate directions. My friend was giddy with excitement. It was soap actor David Canary. I didn’t get an autograph. Worse, I didn’t get his wallet.
