Joe Walsh
Several years ago a friend of mine needed a ride to work. He lived in a little town in California, La Conchita, which had just been wiped out by a mudslide. His car fell victim and the roads were not in much better condition.
His employer, the naval base at Port Hueneme, didn’t accept excuses though, so he decided to rely on the kindness of strangers and the strength of his thumb.
Didn’t take long before a guy in an old Camaro picked him up. My friend was not a big music or sports fan, so when the fella introduced himself as Joe Walsh it didn’t mean anything to him.
Walsh was very nice and offered to drive him all the way to the Naval base. My friend asked Joe Walsh what he did. Walsh told him he used to play with the Eagles.
My friend told him he didn’t follow football. Walsh never clarified which Eagles he played for.
