Judge Judy
It was a summer’s night and I was heading into New York City to see a friend. He has an apartment in a fashionable co-op on the Upper East Side. All of New York City is expensive now. This building was expensive when it meant something!
I pulled off the FDR Drive onto a side street and into the basement garage. As I waited for the attendant to move my car (for approximately the same cost as a kidney transplant) a couple walked into the garage. They were well dressed, but that’s not what you noticed. They were tiny–Polly Pocket sized. It was Judge Judy and her husband–also a judge. The attendant forgot about me and fetched their Rolls.
I walked up to Judge Judy and said, “I follow you every day.”
I meant I am on TV and come on right after your show, but that’s not how it came out. She looked at me suspiciously until I explained what I meant.
She is slender, very attractive and younger looking than I expected. She could not have been nicer. Though it was the basement of her building she graciously posed for a photograph with me.

My father and his wife live in their building. Judge Judy and her husband are both delightful indeed!
