Keith Hernandez
Back in the early 1990’s, my family and I lived in St. Louis. On a winter vacation flight from Lambert Airport to West Palm Beach (where my father lived), I wound up sitting next to Keith Hernandez on a TWA flight.
Being a baseball nut (though not a Mets fan), I certainly recognized the fellow with the mustache in the next seat. We chatted for a bit, talked about baseball — and he was nice enough to sign the back of my business card, but I certainly didn’t want to be a nudge (noodge?). I gave that autograph, which he prefaced saying, “Yes, I sat next to your pal on this flight,” to my pal Dennis, who is a devoted Mets fan (and Queens native).
This reminds me, I need to find out what Dennis did with that card.
