Classic New York Knicks

classic-ny-knicksWhen I was 13, I met a few Knick basketball players. Met Phil Jackson, Walt Frazier and Earl Monroe and the other Knick players. I met them in Madison Square Garden at the elevator (my aunt was dating an employee and the guy let me in).

Phil Jackson was nice and spoke to me. I asked both Frazier and Monroe for their autographs. Frazier said it was bad luck and Monroe said after the game.

I looked up to these two players as heroes, but the reality is they did not care about the fans or the enthusiasm of a young kid looking up to them.

This is almost 40 years ago and every time I see Frazier on tv as a celebrity, I realize the fraud he is.
